I've had this one before but I really didn't appreciate it like I should. When I saw it in Sweden in late August, planted as a specimen, alone, it was totally awesome. The flowers extend beyond the foliage and bloom all season right into the fall. This very vigorous cultivar has unstoppable blooms first appearing bright red, then becoming paler as they mature.

Combine with daffodils, ferns hosta, Phlox 'Candy Stripes' or Saxifragas.
