Aruncus dioicus (Goat's Beard)

Thumbnail Photo

Magnify

The flowers are produced on feathery, creamy white open panicles that soar above the foliage and resemble a giant Astilbe.

Our native Alaska Aruncus sylvester grow all along Turnagain arm and looks like waves of wheat in the wind. A lovely site I seek out each time I journey past.

Could be used as a shrub or hedge. Combine with Aconitum, Iris sibirica, Angelica gigas. This one attracts butterflies and bees.
