I fell in love all over again when I saw this plant repeated many times in Piet Oudolf's Dream Garden in Sweden. Huge heads of dark ruby soar above the foliage.

Piet Oudolf combined Angelica with our wonderful Aruncus dioicus and Eupatorium (Joe Pye Weed). This is an herb.

Combine with Aconitum 'Bicolor', Trollius chinensis (late trollius), Eryngium 'Saphire'.
