Polemonium caeruleum 'Brise d' Anjou' ()

Recently introduced to North American gardeners, this was a chance discovery at a nursery in France. A first-class foliage plant for using towards the front of the border, where its variegated green and creamy-white leaves look for all the world like some exotic fern. Heads of violet-blue flowers rise above on short stems in early summer. This seems to prefer a partly shaded situation with protection from hot afternoon sun, particularly where summers are warm and humid. Also excellent in mixed containers.
