Art In The Garden

As we become more sophisticated in our gardening, garden art becomes a ‘must have’ to finish the project. Garden Art should reflect the style garden it is to be displayed. A formal style garden might not support a scarecrow but a scarecrow would look great in a less formal garden such as a cottage garden. On the other hand, pottery would fit almost any style.

Garden Art can be a ‘found’ item or a custom designed metal gate. Garden Art is a very personal choice. We try to find accents that are affordable and different. We have on staff a metal smith for those custom needs, we search out pottery makers when attending shows, and always keep an eye out for something different when we are traveling all over the world.

This past winter and spring, I’ve spoken to 9 groups about art in the garden. I always learn from these exchanges and enjoy the companionship of other gardeners.
